New, easy-to-use Jackets provide the same rapid, reliable annular seal as our original Sleeves (below), but use your locally-obtained PVC screen to insure thread compatibility and reduce shipping costs. Slide-on Quick Seal and Bentonite Jackets Inexpensive and convenient jackets slide onto your casing and lock into position to provide positive placement of a rapid annular seal below the water table. These products operate the same and have the same specifications as the Quick Seal and Bentonite Sleeves below. Use your screen and casing, save on shipping and insure thread compatibilty. SPECIFICATIONS Same as Quick Seal and Bentonte Sleeves below except these incorporate a temporary polypropylene core. Materials: PVC abrasion shield; polyethylene sediment trap; paper sleeve filled with silica sand and granular bentonite; on flush threaded Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Expansion times (example) 3/4" model seals 2" hole in approx. 15-30 minutes (Quick Seal Sleeve); approx. 6-12 hours (Bentonite Sleeve).
GeoInsight Quick Seal Sleeves are the fastest way to install a reliable annular seal below the waterline. Grouting can begin almost immediately with the Quick Seal Sleeve. Using the Bentonite Sleeve, most wells can be topped up with grout the same day. Quick Seal and Bentonite Sleeves Threads into the casing string to provide positive placement of a rapid annular seal below the water table. The Quick Seal Sleeve is a low-permeability seal; the Bentonite Sleeve is impermeable (note: Bentonite Sleeves seal at a much slower rate than Quick Seal). Prevents grout from intruding into the screened interval. 3/4" model fits in most 2" and 2-1/8" casing, and when fully hydrated will seal holes up to 2.5". The 1" to 2" models fit in larger wells and seal up to 3-1/2". 30" long units stack for longer seals. SPECIFICATIONS Materials: PVC abrasion shield; polyethylene sediment trap; paper sleeve filled with silica sand and granular bentonite; on flush threaded Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Expansion times (example) 3/4" model seals 2" hole in approx. 15-30 minutes (Quick Seal Sleeve); approx. 6-12 hours (Bentonite Sleeve).
Instantly-expanding foam bridge provides instant barrier for bentonite to prevent solids from entering the screened interval. Allows rapid grouting to save time in the field. Expanding Foam Bridge This compressible foam seal, wrapped in a polyethylene sleeve, expands instantly when it exits the bottom of the drive casing, to provide positive placement of a barrier that prevents solids from entering into the screen interval. Provides a positive grout barrier when used above the water table with granular bentonite. SPECIFICATIONS Materials: Polyurethane foam, polyethylene sleeve on 6" of flush threaded PVC pipe.
